Mahey Rafindadi Rasheed is a seasoned economist, with extensive experience in regulatory banking gained from years of service in the Central Bank of Nigeria. He also has an unquantifiable wealth of experience gained from sitting on the Boards of over 20 companies on behalf of NNDC, CBN and the Federal Government of Nigeria.
After bagging a Degree in Economics from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and completion of the mandatory National Youth Service, he started his career at the Northern Nigeria Development Company, NNDC in 1978, where he rose to the position of Principal Investment Executive. He joined the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in 1985 as an Assistant Director and rose to the position of Deputy Governor in 1999. At the CBN, he was in charge of Nigeria’s external debts, supervision of foreign exchange market and provision of financial advice on Government projects amongst a myriad of other duties. He also sat on the Board’s of a number of companies on behalf of the CBN, culminating in his appointment as the Chairman, Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company in 2003 by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Mahey R. Rasheed has a B.Sc. in Economics from ABU Zaria, a post-graduate diploma from the University of Essex, U.K and an MPA (Master of Public Policy and Administration) from the prestigious Harvard University, U.S.A. He is also an Edward Mason fellow, Harvard University.
Testament to his years of excellent service to his nation, he holds the National honor of Officer of the Federal Republic (OFR).
Bello Mohammed Maccido is the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Legacy Pension Managers Limited (PFA). Bello is a versatile professional with over 22 years of post-graduation experience most of which covers many areas of corporate and investment banking. Bello is an Alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree in 1984. After obtaining his Barrister- at- Law from the Nigerian Law School in 1985, he proceeded to the Wayne State University, Michigan, where he obtained his MBA specialising in Managerial Finance (1989). He has also completed executive development programs at the prestigious Harvard Business School and The Wharton School both in the United States. He is also a Chartered Stockbroker.
His career has taken him to ECOBANK Nig Plc, where he was in credit and marketing department responsible for multinationals and conglomerates, and later the bank’s lease portfolio. He subsequently moved to New African Merchant Bank Limited (NAMB) at the Corporate Finance Department where he was involved in a number of major capital market transactions such as the privatisation of First Bank of Nigeria, Unipetrol Rights issue, sale of Gamji Bank of Nigeria among a myriad of other engagements. In 1996 he joined FSB International Bank Plc with the objective of pioneering the establishment of the bank’s Corporate Finance Group. He successfully ascended through the ranks of top managerial positions, rising to the position of Group Head Corporate Banking (handling the bank’s relationships with major corporates across the entire spectrum of the Nigerian economy). In 2003, he assumed the added responsibility of General Manager Investment Banking before finally being appointed Acting Managing Director/CEO of the bank.
Bello manages a diverse team of professionals, who have been exposed to valuable on-the-job training by senior ING consultants to facilitate the transfer of knowledge throughout the organization, and raise the quality of our people on core pension management processes.
Olusegun Fowora is an accomplished architect and real estate developer. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts and a Post-graduate Diploma from the School of Architecture, Canterbury College of Art London. His career started from the high driven Holford Associates of London in 1981 as architectural assistant and continued through various multinational and national companies. He was appointed special assistant to the Minister of State for Transport and Aviation by the Head of State in 1993.
Olusegun Fowora is a director on the board of 4 companies one of which is the renowned WSTC Financial Services a leading stock broking firm in the Country. He is a member of both the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Nigerian Institute of Architects.
Hassan Agwai Mohammed is a distinguished public servant and has held key government positions throughout his years in service. He was a teacher in 1956, a member of the house of assembly in 1964, a radio broadcaster for B.B.C London and an information officer Benue Plateau State Government in 1968. He served as a public relations officer for the Nigeria Air force in 1969, became the vice-consul Nigeria Consulate New York in 1973. He was appointed Deputy Commissioner Nigerian Commission Hong Kong in 1979 and Minister of State Foreign Affairs 1983. Hassan Agwai was at one time private secretary to the Head of State Late General Murtala Mohammed.
Hassan Agwai has been the Chairman of Pipeline & Products Marketing Company (PPMC), National Agricultural Land Development Authority (NALDA) and Associated Ores Mining Company.
Ahmed Lawan Kuru is another distinguished banker on the Board of Legacy whose career in the financial industry took off as Budget Analyst, Federal Ministry of Finance in 1984 and became management accountant for the Nigerian Airways in 1985. He joined Habib Nigeria Bank Plc in 1985 as Assistant Manager and is now a Executive Director for Platinum Habib Bank Plc.
His extensive experience in financial operational procedures is a valued contribution to Legacy. Ahmed Kuru has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and an MBA from Ahmad Bello University, Zaria.
Lamis Shehu Dikko (Director) started his career as a producer at the Kaduna State Radio in 1980, became sub-editor Nigerian Standard Newspaper, Jos in 1984 and an Assistant Lecturer College of Advanced Studies, Zaria in 1985. His banking career took off in 1986 at Habib Nigeria Bank Plc and later Intercity Bank Plc where he rose through the ranks to become the MD/CEO in 2001.
Lamis Dikko has a B.Sc in Economics from the University of London and a PMD from the prestigious Harvard Business School, U.S.A. He sits on the board of 4 companies, is a patron of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management. An accomplished journalist, lecturer and banker, Dikko, has vast experience which indeed spreads across interesting and challenging professions, thus he brings cultural heritage and professional experience to Legacy.
He is experienced in corporate and private organization accounting. His career took him from Intercity Investment Nigeria Ltd in 1993 to Lalan Enterprises Gusau in 1995 and to Zaitun & Gusau Oil Mills Ltd in 1996 where he left to become a self-employed investment executive.
Aliyu Baba has a HND from the Kaduna Polytechnic, a post-graduate diploma in public Administration and in Management Studies from the Kaduna Polytechnic and Usman Dan Fodio University respectively and an MBA in from the Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto.
Yola has over 22 years post-graduate working experience gained mostly from the banking sector. His career took off as a building engineer at the Kano State Ministry of Works in 1984 where he worked for 5 years before deciding to accept the challenge of a banking career. His track record in the banking industry is quite enviable; he started as a credit officer at ICON LTD (Merchant Bankers) and later moved to FBN (Merchant Bankers) Ltd. While with FBN, he was at various times Branch Manager, Head International Operations, Head Information Systems and Treasurer. In 2006, he joined First Bank Plc as Assistant General Manager where he left to join Legacy.
Misbahu Yola is a seasoned professional equipped with experience in areas ranging from engineering, finance, operations to marketing, human resource and information technology management. He is an alumnus of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he obtained a B.Sc in Building and an MBA. He has also attended some of the world’s most prestigious management and financial Schools including The Ashridge Management College England, INSEAD France and The Darden Business School U.S.A but to mention a few.
He is a distinguished chartered accountant/banker with over 16 years of post-graduate experience most of which were obtained from the banking industry. He graduated from University of Ibadan in 1989 with an Upper Second Class Division, Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.) degree in Forest Resource Management and a Masters degree (M. Sc.) in Agricultural Economics in 1992. He also has an MBA in Finance and Strategic Management from The Wharton School of Pennsylvania, USA.
His career commenced as a staff accountant in the globally reputable firm, Arthur Anderson, where he rose to the level of Manager within a period of six years. After working with Merrill Lynch, Los Angeles, USA in 2001 and Capital Alliance Private Equity in 2002 to 2003, Mr. Adebayo opted for a career in the banking sector where he started as an Assistant General Manager and Head of SME & Special Projects in Wema Bank Plc. He later joined Standard Trust Bank (now UBA Plc) as the Head of Strategy and Performance.
After the UBA/Standard Trust Bank merger in 2005, Mr Adebayo became Deputy General Manager and Head of Strategy at the United Bank for Africa (UBA). He was later posted on assignment to CBN to assist in establishing the Africa Finance Corporation (AFC), which culminated into his appointment as a Regional Director upon his return to UBA until June 2008, when he joined First City Monument Bank Plc. He is presently a Senior Vice President and Head of National Distribution responsible for managing the entire bank’s more than 140 branches.
